Letter from Friends of Cooperstown Tennis |
Dear Friends,
We are engaged in an exciting new endeavor for Cooperstown and hope you will join us! The core mission: to improve the greater Cooperstown community with year round tennis programming for children, adults and adaptive athletes. It is a simple mission, with wonderful possibilities for our community. Please join us and support this collaborative community effort with your tax deductible donation. Sincerely, Friends of Cooperstown Tennis |
Why Cooperstown Tennis |
1. Our school team is limited to practicing in the elementary school gym in the off season. Indoor courts will allow uninterrupted year-round tennis training for our aspiring student-athletes allowing them to reach their full potential while positioning themselves for competitive tennis at the college level or beyond.
2. We are fortunate to have Pathfinder Village and Springbrook in our area. Both organizations are exemplary models for supporting individuals with unique abilities. Indoor courts would provide a venue for adaptive tennis, furthering engagement within our community, and increasing the social and sporting opportunities for the special populations these organizations serve. 3. Increasing the availability of year-round tennis for area youth would offer them the opportunity to be engaged in a life-long sport; building focus, health, and camaraderie. This is particularly important in our rural area. 4. Individuals of all ages are currently traveling long distances to reach indoor facilities in other areas. Building local indoor courts would provide the community with tennis for any season. More individuals would be able to take up tennis and to be actively engaged in the sport. |
